HI AM ADHITHYA SREEJITH.A STUDENT OF 1OTH. THIS IS MY FIRST STEP TOWARDS BLOGGING.

Stuck in traffic on my way to school or shop,I just took a glance around us.Young woman carrying their child, moving from car to car, trying to sell a window shield during a red signal. How many of us buy from them?Is it because they are not up to our standard?Paying hundreds don’t we buy the same thing from supermarkets? These people who we see and more often ignore are also part of India’s growing population.

Just think about living a day or two without food. Can’t even imagine!!!These are the people who die due to hunger and malnutrition. We can see many people sleeping on the streets during heavy rain, many abandoned parents, children begging on the streets and many heartening scenes when stepped out.How blessed are we…Isn’t it??For many, poverty simply means lack of adequate resource, but the reality is much more than that. The correct reason is access.Access to healthcare, education, employment and so on.

A child who saw his/her mother/father working in someone’s house will follow the same path.He/she doesn’t know the world outside it.If the previous trends continue,India’s share of world GDP will increase by the end of 2020 especially during this Covid crisis. The lives of these people are not secured. They may lose their life anywhere and anytime. In a Hindi poem it was mentioned”Duniya ki sari gandhigi ke beech,Duniya ki sari khushboo rachte hai hath”.This line is about the indigent people who make incense sticks, making our lives fragrant and living in the dirt themselves.

Of course, there are many private/govt organisations to help them. But are they doing it properly?.In my opinion,NO!!During this worldwide pandemic many essential kits were provided. But before too, there were many people who stood below the poverty line, but such actions were not seen.Another snag I observed was all these drama were just done for publicity.Photos are taken ,news are made and a feeling of inferiority is bought into the mindset of these people But I can’t blame all the organisations. There are some that work by understanding the mindset of these destitute people.

But it is never too late.If we all work together,we can bring these helpless people ahead.Even Mahatma Gandhi Ji had addressed the untouchables ’Harijan’,then why can’t we???

HOPE YOU ENJOYED READING

THANK YOU!!!
